THE FOUNDERS
Martin Hansen: Film-maker, editor, lighting designer and commercial artist from Amsterdam. After thirty years of city life working in three different professions he was in search of concentration, peace and a healthy balance between intellectual and manual work. Here, he found a place where he can use everything he has learned throughout his life.
Marieken Verheyen: Visual artist with a focus on public art projects connected to particular places, e.g. in schools, houses and other official buildings. After thirty years of success as an artist in Amsterdam it was time to fulfill her longing for nature and space. THE ARCHITECT
We needed an architect for our project who could take up the challenge of carrying out as considerable a conversion as possible with as little money as possible. Sporting – that was how Peter Grundmann referred to our plans. He is an advocate of improvised construction, without too much detailed planning: first construct a section, then find fresh solutions for what emerges. This chimed with our way of thinking and working as artists.
