Summerhouse Salix

The summer house Salix takes it's name from the willows that surrounds it. It is constructed according to the plan of our architect Peter Grundmann, who began with a bare 6x6 m2 living room. All the house’s functions are contained in glass cubes that come off the central room and at the same time serve as windows.

While cooking, you stand before a 4 m wide panorama window with a view of the paddocks. You can ‘hover’ in the bed-cube outside the house where the sun sets behind the woods and shower in the bath-cube enclosed by glass panes between the boughs of cherry trees.

When the sun shines, the transparent southern side of the house becomes a projection screen for the shadow play of the surrounding trees. A house for aesthetes and anarchists, as our architect put it.
